A: For most stable fabrics, a medium-weight cut-away or tear-away stabilizer is ideal. Use cut-away for stretchy fabrics like knits or fleece, and tear-away for stable wovens like denim or towels. A water-soluble topping can be useful on fuzzy fabrics to keep stitches from sinking.
