Pro Tip: A 75/11 or 80/12 universal embroidery needle usually works well. For metallic threads, a specialized needle is best to prevent thread breaks. Use a smaller needle for delicate fabrics.

For most stable fabrics, a medium-weight cut-away or tear-away stabilizer is ideal. If you're working with fuzzy fabrics like fleece, use a water-soluble topping to keep stitches from sinking.
